Cobble Stitch Tutorial

The Cobble Stitch is perfect for anyone who struggles with Puff, Bobble or Popcorn Stitch OR if you want a less yarn eating alternative.

With its beautiful texture and pattern repeat simplicity I’m sure you will be addicted to this stitch in no time.

Pattern notes

Yarn used: Paintbox Simply Aran  – Mustard

Written in UK terms

This pattern gives you the basic principles for the cobble stitch, designed to help you create your own projects.

Crochet terms

ch – Chain

dc – Double Crochet

dtr – Double Treble

*__* repeat instructions

Pattern

Foundation chain: Chain in multiples of 2, plus 2 for turning.

Row 1: dc into 2nd ch from the hook and into every ch until the end, ch1 and turn. (You will have 23 stitches in each row)

Row 2: dc in base of ch1, *dtr, dc* repeat until you come to the end of the row. Ch1 and turn

Row 3: dc in base of ch1, dc into top of each stitch along the row

Repeat row 2 & 3, end with row 2 for a neater finish.

    Hi. Thanks for this tutorial. I don’t know if someone has already mentioned it, but in your first
    ‘Cobble Stitch’ row you say ‘continue with half treble and double crochet’ to the end!
    Sorry if this is a repeat of someone else’s email or if I got it wrong.
    Looking forward to many more of your tutorials.

      Thanks Andrea for pointing that out. I’ll take a look at the video to see if I’d already written it in the description. Sometimes I go to say something and something completely different comes out! Haha. Sorry for the confusion. I hope the written instructions make it a little clearer 🙂
