Pattern written in UK terms
You will need:
- Yarn: You can use any yarn you wish to make your flower crown. Mixing different weights will create different sized flowers. For the example crowns, DK yarn was used.
- Hook: 3mm, 4mm and 5mm were used for different flowers
- Stitch markers
- Scissors
- Darning needle
Crochet Skills Needed
Space: sp
Slip Stitch: ss: Insert hook into stitch, yarn over pull through stitch and first loop on hook.
Chain(s): ch(s): Yarn over, pull through one loop on hook.
Double Crochet(s): dc(s): Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have
two loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.
Double Crochet 2 together: dc2tog: Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop,
insert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop. You will have three loops on the hook. Yarn
over, pull through all three loops.
Half Treble Crochet(s): htr(s): Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you
will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through all three loops.
Treble Crochet(s): tr(s): Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will
have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through
remaining two loops.
Double Treble Crochet(s): dtr(s): Yarn over twice and insert your hook into the chain or
stitch, yarn over and pull through (you will have four loops on the hook) yarn over and pull through two loops on the hook (you will have three loops on the hook) yarn over and pull through two loops on the hook (you will have two loops on the hook) yarn over and pull through the remaining two loops on the hook.
Triple treble(s): ttr(s): Yarn over hook twice, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop,
you will have four loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, you will have two loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.
Puff Stitch(s): ps(s): (This version of the puff stitch is worked over 2 stitches) [Yarn over and insert hook into the same space, yarn over, pull through and pull up to the same height of the stitch] twice in the same stitch or space (5 loops on hook), [yarn over, insert hook into the next space, yarn over, pull thorough and pull up to the same height of the stitch] twice in next stitch or space. (9 loops on hook) Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.
