MATERIALS & TOOLS

Scissors/rotary cutter

Mesh

Crochet hook

Glitter card/fabric

Super chunky thick wool

Yarn: I used StyleCraft Special DK in the following colours should you want to use the same: Aspen 1422, Bright Green 1259, Lemon 1020, Candyfloss 1130, Parma Violet 1724, Apricot 1026

MEASUREMENTS

The Little Rainbow Cloud Hanging can be made to any size.

The pictured cloud is 17cm width and 10cm in length and my tassels are 30cm long.

NOTES

To straighten your tassels, you can either use a steamer or hair straighteners. However, use them very lightly and be careful not to burn the yarn.

Don’t worry about being neat with the cloud, as long as the mesh is covered

You can attach a piece of felt to the back to make it look neat, but it isn’t necessary

LITTLE RAINBOW CLOUD HANGING PATTERN

Stage 1

Cut your mesh into a rectangle to the size you would like (mine was 12 x 8 cm), and grab your super chunky wool in white and hook the wool through the holes using your crochet hook. Make sure you leave 2 rows at the bottom of the cloud for your tassels.

White wool intertwined into a large mesh with a blue plastic crochet hook to make a 3D cloud.

Stage 2

Once you are happy with the shape of your cloud, grab you coloured yarn (rainbow stripes) and cut to your desired length, (I cut my tassels to 60cm in length so 30cm once folded). Fold in half and loop through the bottom of your cloud.

Stage 3

Draw and cut three stars out of your glitter card/fabric and glue to your cloud.

Stage 4

Straighten your tassels (optional!) and trim so they are super straight at the bottom.

Stage 5

Tie a little loop at the back of your cloud to hang!

And, you’re all done! You now have your own Little Rainbow Cloud Hanging!

Hello, this is adorable! I can’t wait to start making mine ☺️ just a quick question, how many lengths of yarn did you cut for each of the tassel colours?
