I’m so excited to share today’s guest post with you. I’ve welcomed the lovely Elisabeth from Desamour Designs to my blog today to share her Petion-Ville Clutch Bag pattern. The cute crochet clutch is inspired by Elisabeth’s Haitian roots. Using a wonderfully textured raffia you can create a beautiful crochet clutch with bags of cultural heritage behind the design.

Elisabeth says, “This past couple of years I’ve been turning back to my motherland’s cultural fashion, history and the influence of other countries on her. The Petion-Ville is named after one of my favourite cities in Port-au-Prince. Petion-Ville ‍was always where the best parties and restaurants were while I was growing up in Haiti.

This clutch back uses raffia yarn reminiscent of the straw bags you will find to this day in all over Haiti’s streets, the colourful homes and especially at markets! The zig zag red ribbon is often used in Haiti traditional outfits and the hems and necklines; usually in blue and red.”

As this is a guest post, Bella Coco Crochet is unable to answer any queries. If you have a question, please contact the designer directly and they will be happy to help you.
