Materials and Tools needed:
Yarn: Hobbii Metallico (UK) / Hobbii Metallico (USA) (70% Polyamide, 21% Acrylic, 9% Merino Wool), Aran weight (#4), 115m (125yds), 50g (1.75oz).

I bought some fingering ply wool from the southern wool show recently and needed a simply but pretty pattern. I haven’t used two different colours but my shawl is starting to look lovely. Not finished yet but am really pleased with the lacy but substantial effect of the pattern

I like this pattern , it's easy to do and grows really fast. Completed it within a week. It was handy as a beginner being able to consult the utube video now and then to check I was doing certain bits right.
What I hate about this pattern is that it prints out TEN sheets of paper, 4 useful pattern pages and 6 pages of bumpf / adverts for the recycling bin. If you must include that stuff please please , lay it out so the useful pages ( numbers 1,7,9&10 ) are at the end so we can just choose to print them and not have to do the whole thing just to get what we want. SO frustrating. Loss of star is for making me kill a tree.
The instructions are very clear, this is very reassuring for a new beginner (since December). I haven't begun it ye't but along with the tutorial I feel confident that before long it will be on my hook.

The pattern is mostly easy to follow, it would be useful if there was pictogram crochet chart, as I am a visual learner and I find those easy to follow. I am half way through creating the shawl using merino possum yarn purchased while visiting NZ and it looks beautiful. Unfortunately I seem to have lost my crochet creation at the airport, so I can't post a picture. Fingers crossed it will turn up in lost property.
